Spring is coming to an end and Summer is upon us. Sadly this means that most of the groups and classes I am involved in are also coming to an end. The most dear of all these groups is my beloved MOPS. It was my first year on leadership and I can’t even begin to explain the amazing things God has done through these women. MOPS showed me what it was to be a servant and in return I have signed on to be Coordinator for the following year. A bit daunting of a task but one I know the Lord will guide me through and refine me along the way.
Today was the Farewell Leadership Brunch, hosted by the TWO CHUMS. The food was homemade and delicious, the company warm and welcoming and the speakers charming and helpful! Two Chums is more than a blog, it’s a friendship between Robin Northrup and Jackie Page. They embody the gift of hospitality and I wanted to share a few of their tips that stuck with me:
- Never iron tablecloths – place them on the table, spritz some water on them and pull the wrinkles out. Let them air dry on the table and you will have a crisp linen that no one will guess was never ironed!
- It’s the small details that make people feel loved and thought of: cloth napkins, a nice centerpiece, and actual flatware instead of the plastic stuff!
- Treat your family like guests and treat your guests like family
