Our first family trip to Disneyland

It’s been a LONG time since I have been to Disneyland. I promised myself I wouldn’t return until I had kids to enjoy the magic through their eyes. Well, two kids later it’s about time. Since Little Man has been really getting into the Disney characters and was turning three this month we figured a birthday vacation to Disneyland and California Adventure was in order. I found a great deal for a local hotel through Groupon and we began planning our attack trip.

Since the pressure to have one or two PERFECT days at the Magic Kingdom was too great we opted to just buy annual passes. That way we could leave and take naps and not feel the need to get the most out of this one trip. And we could enjoy the parks all year long!

We stayed at the Crowne Plaza and I was pleasantly surprised at how beautiful and full service this hotel was for the great rate we got! The hotel rooms were beautifully decorated. The pool was such fun and they even had food and drink service right to our lounge chairs!

Day one was all about Carsland and California Adventure. We cut the day in two to come back to the hotel for nap time which allowed us to see their nightly water show. Here’s some highlights:

Day two we tackled Disneyland and we were having so much fun we stayed ALL DAY, no break! Luckily the boys napped in the stroller so we all stayed in high spirits

I got to take Little Man on the Submarine ride just the two of us. I was floored at the amazing animation underwater!

It’s a Small World turned out to be everyone’s favorite ride. It’s long, it’s seated and it’s air conditioned. Need I say more?

What did Little Man want as his birthday souvenir? A sword just like Jake and the Neverland Pirates of course!

Needless to say we were all exhausted. I am so glad we got the passes though because I can’t wait to go back and experience the magic of Disneyland in all four seasons.

A special shout out to our friends Andrew and Jessica who work for Disney. Thank you so much for making our experience that much happier. : )
