Mom 2.0 Summit Recap Part 1: Mobile Photography Tips & Tricks

I just got to spend three glorious days with some of the best bloggers in the industry at the Mom 2.0 Summit in Atlanta Georgia. The days were filled with education and eye opening tools to help me take what I love to another level. The sponsors had some amazing products to showcase and I came back with so much stuff I barely was able to close my suitcase. (Don’t worry you’ll be able to read about my top picks & maybe even some giveaways from the sponsors later. 😉 Then there were the evening events filled with networking and dancing till the wee hours.

But let’s talk about the education first.

How to Improve Your Mobile Photography

One of my favorite workshops was on improving your mobile photography. It was led by Jon Armstrong, an amazing photographer in his own right, who writes at Blurbomat. He shared with us some apps to help craft our pictures into works of art. VSCO Cam and Snapseed were on his list of must have downloads. He spent much of the time walking us through Snapseed and showing us the amazing technology at our fingertips, literally! I can modify the brightness, ambiance, saturation, color, warmth, texture and shadows, and that’s all in just ONE of the many modification boxes. They also have an option called Center Focus where you can choose portions of the picture to focus on while blurring out the background. Where Instagram may have 19 filters, SnapSeed allows you to use all sorts of filters while also personalizing the strength of that filter and color. It’s like having Photoshop on my iPhone people! Here’s an example of a photo I tweaked using Snapseed.
