Healthy Drinks and Snacks for Back to School plus GIVEAWAY!

I have to be honest although I crave feeding my kids healthy foods sometimes I just need the convenience of grabbing something off the shelf. Thankfully I have found some great options that provide not just convenience but healthy ingredients.

Y Water

Y WaterA local LA based company Y Water thinks differently: In with the vitamins, the minerals and the electrolytes for better hydration and out with the sugar, the calories, and all the artificial stuff. Now this is something I can get behind! Y Water is a USDA certified organic beverage in flavors and functions containing all natural and certified organic ingredients. The drinks contain no preservatives, artificial coloring, or artificial sweeteners. Unlike the usual saccharine “fruit” flavors marketed to children, Y Water is available in four delicious flavor combinations:

•  Bone Water is enriched with calcium and vitamins A, C and D.
•  Brain Water contains a special blend of zinc, molybdenum and vitamins B6, B12 and C.
•  Muscle Water features magnesium, potassium, selenium as well as vitamin A and C.
•  Immune Water is fortified with antioxidants and vitamins A, C and E.

We took these drinks on vacation with us and Little Man could not get enough of them! Available at Southern California Walgreens Y Water retails for $0.99

Sneakz Chocolate Milkshake

I know what you’re thinking. How can a chocolate milkshake be good for you? Well Sneakz has done it by taking out the artificial and using clean ingredients to create a chocolate milkshake you can feel good about giving your kid. I am usually not a fan of giving my kids too much sugar in their beverages but Punkin sure does love some chocolate milk. With Sneakz he thinks he’s getting a treat and I feel good knowing it’s packed with veggies. Not to mention its shelf stable package means no refrigeration required.

If you don’t believe me check out their Ingredient List: Organic Skim Milk, Filtered Water, Sneakz Organic Veggie Puree Blend (Filtered Water, Organic Dried [Sweet Potato, Carrot, Beet and Spinach]), Filtered Water, Organic Cane Sugar, Organic Dutch Cocoa, Natural Flavors, Carrageenan

Snikiddy trioMy kids LOVE chips  and I crave the crunch but most chip options are full of grease and artificial ingredients that I can’t pronounce. I was sent Skikiddy’s and let me tell you they did not last long in my house. I took the Mac and Cheese Puffs to a playdate pool party and couldn’t stop all the kids from devouring them. I served the Baked Fries to my in laws on vacation and we were all surprised at how good they were! Way better than the normal BBQ chips we normally have with our sandwiches. The Eat Your Veggies chips are certainly yummy and really knock you in the face with flavor.

Snikiddy’s retails between $2.99 and $3.79 and are available at a ton of great retailers. For a full list visit

wild veggieWild Veggie

Wild Veggie™ is so versatile and so naturally perfect that you can either enjoy it as a simple soup, or you can add  Wild Veggie™  to ANYTHING you want for a unique recipe that is all yours from entrees and side dishes, to soups, smoothies, sauces, dips and so much more. You can also use Wild Veggie puree as substitutes for veggies in recipes. I personally enjoyed their breakfast oatmeal bowl filled with healthy barley, quinoa and oats. Of course I couldn’t resist a touch of brown sugar, gotta have my sweet in the morning. 😉 My other favorite was using their carrot puree in a simple smoothie snack. I simple blended vanilla yogurt, carrot puree, a banana and ice. Such a nice afternoon treat! I am even planning on using the broccoli puree in my pasta sauce tonight.

Wild Veggie Purees retail for $3.99 and the Breakfast Bowls retail for $2.49. They can be found at many health food stores around the country. For a location by you visit
