Although I was compensated to attend and share about this show all opinions are my own. Trust me guys I don’t write about stuff I don’t like. 😉
I was recently afforded the opportunity to attend the premiere party for Amazon’s brand-new series The Stinky & Dirty Show, based on the “I Stink!” book series. I took along my 6 year-old Little Man and he absolutely loved it. From getting to sit in a movie theatre to watch the show to the party afterwards he was in heaven.
Whoever was their event coordinator should get a big pat on the back because this event was SO well done, and I have done my fair share of event coordinating. Every detail was thought of from the popcorn as you entered the theatre to the themed out crafts and even the food tables! Little Man went back multiple times to to make mud pies (chocolate pudding) and trash bag trail mix. They even had Dan Bern, the acclaimed folk singer songwriter, performing his original music he wrote for the show. Little Man was entranced by the music and even won a few prizes from answering questions about the show!
We also enjoyed meeting the voice talents behind the lead characters. Little Man was a bit star struck when he found out they had done voice work for Doc McStuffins, Lion Guard and PJ Masks (favorites at our house). The show also showcases celebrity voice talents Whoopi Goldberg, Jane Lynch, Andy Richter, Joan Cusack and Wallace Shawn.
Stinky and Dirty are just flat out CUTE, even though they are…well…stinky and dirty. I especially loved how each episode taught critical thinking and fostered lifelong creative learning. The series’ curriculum was developed by Dr. Alice Wilder and Jessica Lahey, author of the New York Times best-seller The Gift of Failure: How the Best Parents Learn to Let Go So Their Children Can Succeed, on which the curriculum is based. I was thrilled to meet her and get a signed copy of her book!
The pilot episode, rated 4.8 stars by customers, is available to stream and download today, with nine additional episodes to debut on September 2 exclusively for Prime members.
