Help Us Make Sure Every Little Bottom is Covered: Join Diaper Action Week!

Little Man at 6 months wearing his GroVia cloth diapers

When I first got pregnant I researched EVERYTHING, diapering included. I was shocked to find that diapering a baby can cost upwards of $2,000 a year! For example, a jumbo pack of Pampers costs from $10 to $15—that’s 20 to 30 cents per diaper, depending on the size. I never thought I would be a cloth diapering momma but based on cost alone I made the decision to give cloth diapering a try. It’s been 17 months and I am still enoying my cloth diapers! I use disposable diapers for night time and other occassions but most of my disposable packs I have gotten for free or as gifts. I know that I am blessed to have a washer and dryer to make this savings a reality. Not every family can cloth diaper or would want to.

Not many of you know but I am a supporter of “Help A Mother Out,” a non profit dedicated to providing diapering assistance to families in need. It’s hard for many of us to imagine, but not being able to afford enough diapers can be a real barrier to working families who have limited childcare options. This week Help A Mother Out is trying to get the attention of Congress to pass The Diaper Act. You can read more about the act and petition from their website. Here’s their call to action:

Help us send a clear message to members of Congress that the #DiaperAct is real change from the bottom up! This week we are asking friends to help us reach 25K petition signatures. Thank you for join us!

If you feel so moved please sign the digital petition below and help us make sure every little bottom is covered.
